NRHA Breeders Derby in Kreuth:
International
Top Riders in Breeders Derby classes
Record
numbers of competitors results in one more Derby day
Rieden/Kreuth
(Oberpfalz), June 22-29, 2008
With
more than 1000 nominations and 420 horses, the 2008 NRHA Breeders
Derby is developing into the biggest show in the history of the NRHA
Germany. In fact, the number of competitors made it necessary to add
another show day. So, this year’s Breeders Derby already starts on
Sunday, June 22 with the Jackpot Open class. There are a number of
fine reining classes but the focus is on the Breeders Derby classes
of course.
Especially
the Open Breeders Derby classes should be a sight to see. Maybe the
most famous horse nominated there is Star Spangled Whiz. The stallion
by Topsail Whiz won the Italian Derby a few weeks ago with Rudi
Kronsteiner (AUT) in the saddle who rode him to a new European record
score: his 236 was only half a point below the world record. Rudi
Kronsteiner will ride two more horses in this class. Oliver Stein and
Nico Hoermann nominated three horses each as well. Oliver Stein will
e.g. ride SES Smart Poco Chex, the stallion he won the Championship
for 5-year-old horses with last year, and NRHA Breeders Futurity
Reserve Champion SES Topsail Whiz. Nico
Hoermann saddles Sparkles Pretty Gal, the mare he became CRI Champion
with in Berlin. Other renowned competitors are Morey Fisk (CAN),
Michael Steimer, Daniel Klein, Torsten Gaertner, Steffen Breug,
Sabrina Schwab, Bruno Leken, Michael Saupe, Bernie Hoeltzel (CAN),
Kay Wienrich, Volker Schmitt, Susanne Becker-Rosen, Christof Valtl,
Egon Gerstgrasser (ITA), Daniel Schlömer, Alexander Ripper, Ilan
Rosenberg (ISR), Sandra Breitenstein, Chantal Wielens (BEL), Emanuel
Ernst, Matthias Frisch and Hannes Bolz.
Ten
per cent increase in Non Pro Derby Class
There are more than ten per cent more
competitors in the Non Pro Breeders Derby class. One of the most
renowned here is Tina Kuenstner-Mantl who was NRHA World Reserve
Champion Non Pro. Then there is Uwe Gerbig and RS Bon Ton Jac who
became Breeders Derby Champion 2007. Further competitors are Ebi
Simon, Kerstin Lill, Olga Hofmann, Sven Buerig, Hermann Kind,
Juergen Baetcher, Ewald Rifeser (ITA) and Brigitte Inndorf.
There is a go round and a final for the Breeders Derby Champions Non
Pro and Open. The Go round will be on Wednesday, June 25, the finals
on Saturday, June 28.
