2007 NRHA World Champion wins Mallorca Western Festival Cup / Lawson Bronze Trophy Open in Bremen and places second and third

(Bremen / by Ramona Billing) The audience at Bremen watched one of the most beautiful Lawson Bronze Trophys of Bremen ever. 27 top horse rider combinations competed here – and in the end, the winner was Rudi Kronsteiner astride LIL RUF CODY scoring a 148. And the Austrian, who became NRHA World Champion Open last year for the second time and FEI World Reining Masters Champion also placed second and third astride SEVENTH IRON resp. LIL DRY PEPPY (tying for third place with Vollker Schmitt astride ARC Surprise Oak).

Grischa Ludwig was the first to go. Astride HOLLYWOOD YANKEE KID, a stallion he won the Senior Reining yesterday, he showed a brilliant ride scoring a 145. This was immediately topped by the second competitor Rudi Kronsteiner astride SEVENTH IRON who scored a 147.5 – a top score none of the following riders could beat. Not even German Champion 2007 Volker Schmitt astride NRHA Breeders Derby Champion 2007 JACS READY TO SLIDE (145.5 ). Then Rudi Kronsteiner rode 15-year-old LIL DRY PEPPY to a great 147 –which was equalled by Volker Schmitt and ARC Surprise Oak . Then the unbelievable happened: Austrian Rudi Kronsteiner had another horse in this class. As the last competitor he rode LIL RUF CODY to high score 148. This meant first, second and third place, the biggest share of the USD 5000,-- added purse as well as a transportation voucher of EUR 000.—for the Mallorca Reining Trophy sponsored by the organizers of the Mallorca Western Festival – that show Rudi won last year becoing World Champion for the second time.
