Ever
fancied riding along the historical Rotten Row in the centre of
London?

Dynamite” with others to live it up in the city!

comments “On a Sunday in London, you can park – even a horsebox -
on single yellow lines, with this in mind, when we left home we
travelled to London with the aid of my trusty sat nav, I use the term
loosely, as it appears that when there are high city buildings it
keeps changing its mind from left to right and then likes to send us
back the way we came! We knew we were heading to Hyde Park, but as
we went past Harrods for the second time I realised we were doomed!
However, Amanda, showing remarkable perseverence in the face of
London's adversity, jumped out of the lorry, and hailed a black cab.
Telling the cabbie to drive slowly and head for Hyde Park, we arrived
in style 10 mins later.
A
slight misunderstanding with where we were to meet the others on the
ride, meant that they had parked in Sussex Gardens opposite the park,
their first thought to drive over to where we were, ended up with
them turning up on horseback, whilst we enquired as to whether we
could in fact park on single yellow lines. Although we were told we
needed to get a permit, it would appear that you need to find a
policeman for this, and of course there were none in sight, so we fed
the parking meter, unloaded 3 horses in the road, complete with
traffic stopping measures and mounted up (except for the rugged man
of the group who was on foot - me!)
Dually
and Duke did their best to impress the hordes of people who were
making their way to the funfair, and stopped to watch. We had a
great time, we did find three policemen in the end and guess what you
don't need a permit – or perhaps it was because we bribed them with
soup and scintillating conversation? We had a great time, and would
go back again, even though when we left (after holding up the traffic
again), and headed off down Oxford Street, the sat nav played it's
last pre-christmas prank on me by diverting us through Hoxton
(wherever that is!). It was a great day".
