AQHA.UK Futurity Scheme |
|
|
The AQHA.UK Council is pleased to announce the launch of a new Association Futurity Scheme with the first classes to be held in 2007. The Scheme will be open to all Quarter Horses registered with AQHA and AQHA.UK
Classes offered will include both Halter and Performance as follows: Weanling, Yearling and Two Year Old Halter, Three Year Old Pleasure, Trail and Hunter Under Saddle, Four Year Old Pleasure, Trail, Hunter Under Saddle and Reining.
Once enrolled in the Scheme, a horse will be eligible for all classes
but, to show, the current owner must be a member of AQHA.UK Entry fees
to each class will include a significant pay back element.
Each class will also benefit from added money from a Fund built up from
Scheme enrolment fees. The sum per class will be governed by the amount
in the Fund and the number of classes obliged to be held. Enrolment in
the Scheme can be undertaken at any time but the earlier a horse is
enrolled and paid into the Scheme the cheaper it is. Waiting until the
potential of the horse emerges will incur a surcharge.
Initial plans for enrolment fees are just £50 for weanlings, with
progressively higher, fees for older horses. This however, is subject
to review and initial fees will be confirmed early next year.
Launch initiatives are expected to include the injection of at least
some seed money and reduced rate enrolment fees for older horses.
Whatever your plans for your young horse, the Scheme is an exciting
development. Even if you do not intend to show the horse yourself it
can be shown by someone else, and the enrolment stays with the horse
and is transferred to the new owners if sold. All members are therefore
encouraged to register their young horses as soon as possible.
Full rules and enrolment forms will be available in the Spring and a
presentation with a full explanation of the Scheme will be made at the
2007 AGM.
