What are the relationship requirements in Open, Youth and Amateur divisions? |
|
|
In Open there are no relationship requirements
if the exhibitor is an open or youth member. An Amateur exhibitor must
either be the owner of the horse or be immediately related to the
owner, they may show in the open division but the Amateur rules still
apply. In Youth classes, the exhibitor must either own the horse or be
immediately related to the owner. Although , It is legal
for a youth to show a non-owned horse in the open division, this action could violate rule 403(c) of the AQHA Official Handbook concerning amateur eligibility.
