My name is David Kutls, I am 15 years of age and live in Northampton. I started riding when I was five and had my first lesson at East Lodge Farm, Ecton, in Northampton, on a cheeky New Forest pony called Blue.

When I was about 7, I rode a black Arab pony, very sensibly named Blackie. At first, he was extremely scared of jumping, but after a while we gelled, and he really would jump for me, so we became a good team.

We then bought Patch four years ago from the riding school. He's a black and white cob. Patch will really do anything for anyone, in fact exactly what you ask of him, until, out on hacks he sees any colour of plastic bags in hedges.

Patch and I competed at very small Show Jumping Shows, and we did O.K. in those and occasionally managed to do the clear round bareback. I was even asked to give a bare-back demonstration at East Lodge Farm's Open Day. After seeing a David Deptford demonstration, I asked for Western lessons. I went to David's yard and had a lesson and then I was hooked!

After several more lessons, in the Autumn of 2004, my parents bought me a Quarter Horse called 'Sparky's Dirty Harry'. I now have regular lessons with David and Catherine Wright. I have attended many training clinics and also really enjoyed the WE.S Youth Training weekend last year. I have shown "Harry" several times and have been placed most of the time. I am hoping to show much more this year, but I am very exited about going to the Youth World Cup.
