Lily Fry

My name is Lily Fry and I am fifteen years old and live in Somerset. I go to a local school and I am at present working towards exams for next year. I have been riding Quarter Horses for about 8 months, since I fell in love with my 15.2hh Sorrel Quarter horse mare, 'Angel Intimidator PV'. I first came across "Angel" on the day I started my Saturday job at a Quarter Horse and Appaloosa stud not far from where I live. I then saved the money I earned to pay for lessons on "Angel" with the trainer Mary Griggs. After two months of lessons and riding 'Angel" we purchased her, and I have been truly happy with her ever since. My favourite event is Western Pleasure, because I love the way the horses go so responsively; I also like the way you cannot see the riders give the aids to the horse to do a manoeuvre, so the whole picture of horse and rider looks really natural. I would love to make a career of riding by competing at high level in all major Western shows. To be able to be a part (albeit a small part) of the Youth World Cup is a tremendous thrill and a time I will treasure always.
