The third of our "Did You Know" series deals with the early days of the Association in the UK.
The formation of the British Quarter Horse Association was first discussed on 9th January 1972, when a meeting was held at Captain Gosling's house in Burley, Hampshire, the heart of the New Forest. Captain L Gosling, Mr and Mrs R Massey and commander and Mrs R C Fox were those present. They decided that Mr and Mrs Massey should keep a register of the Quarter Horses that were imported and being bred in England, but that there were too few people involved at that stage for further activity.
