Sunday 3rd May
With a chilly start to the day, the weather stayed on our side by remaining mostly sunny and dry. The third day of showing commenced under Show Two Judge Ruth Ellen with Halter.
The Grand Champions were as follows:-
Stallions:
Grand Champion: All Blue N Cruisin - owned by Joanne Clark
Reserve Champion: Smart N Spooky Nic - owned by Caroline Barnes.
Geldings:
Grand Champion - Mai Guy Zip - owned by Jane Wallace
Reserve Grand Champion - Seren Jolly Profit - owned by Frances Payne
Mares:
Grand Champion: Jays Dene - owned by David Teideman
Reserve Grand Champion - Snippers Mito Bella - owned by Amanda Griffiths
All classes had great entries, with the NSBA Pleasure and Trail classes being very well supported, this is the first time the NSBA classes have been held at an AQHA UK/QH2000 Show, and we hope to continue to hold them in the future.
It was interesting to note that the Youth Western riding class, traditionally one that has very few entries, had the most entries ever, showing the skill of the up and coming Youth riders.
The All Around Awards going to the following:-
Open - Seren Jolly Profit - Frances Payne
Novice Amateur - Peppys All Gold - Deborah Jackson
Amateur - Zan Francisco Rey - Sue Forrest
Youth - Arc It Aly - Lilly Fry - a real nail biter of a finish to this All Around award with Lily beating Show One Youth All Around winner Chris Dalton and Heza Classy Shadow by one point.
As the afternoon draws to a close, the showground is emptying with some competitors staying for the Ruth Ellen Clinic on Monday. We've got a full house, with the Youth Team riding in the morning session and a full afternoon session as well.
Congratulations to all competitors, and thank you to the hard working show team for all your work over the weekend, and also prior to the show, without your help it wouldn't be possible to run these shows.
As soon as the full results are processed we'll add them to the website....

Friday 1st May
Show Day! The sun is shining, it's a glorious day in the Fens, and the show started this morning at 7.30 am with the trail classes. Show Secretary Sarah Nutt has been very busy taking a lot of entries, so as well as a good turnout of horses, there are a lot of classes being entered and it looks like everyone is enjoying the weather, venue and being back on the show circuit after the winter break. "The Voice" John Hall up in his lofty commentators position at the top of the arena is settled in for the weekend. There's a lot of very nice horses out there in the warm up pen waiting to go into their trail class......
With well supported classes the show ran very smoothly on Day one under AQHA Judge Scott Buckwalter. Trade stands on site include Rhinestone Clothing, Rodeo Jo's, The Western Department and the Western Boots and Saddles Company.
Show Manager, Bill Archer commented this morning "the weather is glorious, we've had a great start to the day and we're very happy, and the competitors are happy too which is what is important".
In conjunction with Horse Creek Farm the Cambridgeshire Countryside Watch and Cambridgeshire Police attended today for three hours to security mark tack. Stefan Gridelow, the Co-Ordinator for Cambridgeshire Countryside watch was thrilled with the response, in three hours they marked 21 western saddles. Says AQHA UK Regional Co-ordinator Lindsay Doel, who initiated the tack marking "I'm thrilled with the response to this, as I'd heard many people saying that they'd been told that their western saddles couldn't be marked. Cambridgeshire Police and Countryside Watch and especially Stefan from CW have worked really hard to find various ways in which saddles in particular can be marked. Even if the saddle is fully carved, they can mark it, it's great - everyone should think about having it done, it's better to be safe than sorry".
There will be another tack marking session at Horse Creek Farm during the summer, during one of the shows. Watch this space.
Tomorrow sees Halter starting at 7.30 am, with the end of show one and show two under Ruth Ellen starting.
More news on Saturday evening.

Thursday 30th April
The stables are up and booked and horses are starting to arrive for this weekends show. The weather forecast is pretty good actually - especially for a bank holiday weekend! There is a bumper turnout for this show, considering the economic climate and horses will start working in getting ready for the show from 5pm through to 9pm. Thursday is about preparing for the show, settling the horses in and getting ready for the show start at early O'clock on Friday morning.
The show team have been on site since yesterday making sure everything is prepared, including the AQHA UK Members and Sponsors Marquee - don't forget to bring your membership card to gain entry.
We're looking forward to a great weekend of showing. Keep checking back for updates.
