IMPORTANT INFO RE HORSE PASSPORTS Print E-mail
AQHA UK is authorised to issue horse passports on behalf of the National Equine Database (NED).   Please note that Defra is bringing in new rules which state that from 1st July 2009 it will be mandatory for all equines to be microchipped at first registration in order to receive a passport.

Defra are also recommending the microchipping of adult horses with pre-existing passports - however this is NOT mandatory.  In short, this means if you are applying for a passport for any horse after 1st July 2009, you MUST have the horse or foal micro-chipped before AQHA UK are allowed to issue a passport.
