Kronsteiner wins FEI World Reining Masters for second time riding Roseanne Sternbergs Smart Spook!

Ramona Billing) For the second time in a row, Austrian Rudi
Kronsteiner won the prestigious $ 100,000 FEI World Reining Masters
last night where 19 riders from 16 nations competed. Riding Rosanne
Sternberg’s American Quarter Horse stallion SMART SPOOK again, Rudi
Kronsteiner gave a brilliant presentation scoring a 221 – 3 points
ahead of the second placed Jordan Larson (USA) astride Lena Gallo.
Kronsteiner and Smart Spook also received gold in the Restricted
Division winning $ 26,750 altogether. Craig Schmersal (USA) and Mr
Dual Rey (216.5) placed third, Rieky Young (NED) fourth astride
Gunners Pearl.
For
Rudi Kronsteiner it was another great victory this year after winning
the Italian Derby (setting a new European score record), the NRHA
Breeders Futurity and becoming NRHA Reserve World Champion Open.
Smart Spook is by Smart Chic Olena out of an own daughter of Grays
Starlight. With Shawn Flarida in the saddle, Smart Spook was 2004
NRHA Futurity Open Champion, 2005 NRHA Derby Open Champion and AQHA
World Champion Junior Reining. “Smart
Spook was great again,” says Rudi Kronsteiner. „He
is such a superb, absolutely honest and cool. I
can’t thank Rosanne Sternberg enough for letting her ride me that
exceptional horse again. Thank
you to Shawn Flarida as well for standing by my side during the show.
Kronsteiner
was born in Steyr near Linz (Austria), but has been training in
Germany since 1997 now. He is the leading European money earner in
reining winning numerous Bronze Trophies, Futurities and Derbies. He
became NRHA World Champion Open twice and won the World Reining
Masters Open twice and three times in the Restricted Division..
Horses bred or owned by the British Sternberg family and Sterling Quarter Horses featured heavily in the results, as you can see below. Congratulations.
