Hi, my name is Jessie
Leach. I am 13 years old and I am aiming to be one of the UK’s
Youth World Cup Team’s reserves for when they go to Canada in 2008.
On April 28th
we had a 14 and under clinic. Being me, I was extremely nervous but
that soon went away when we got on with showmanship. Many thanks to
Francesca and Doug who let me use their horse, Alicante. Our
clinician was Alison James with Mom (Christy Leach) and Francesca and
Doug Allen all helping Alison.

I think the official figure was twenty two horses and riders at the latest Youth Clinic but I was far too busy to count. It was held at David Deptford's new facility over the weekend of 24th - 25th March and we were the first to use the indoor arena with its brand new surface.
The weekend started on Friday with a five hour trip down to Cambridgeshire from my home in Northumberland. We had my new Quarter Horse (Coal) on board with my Appaloosa (Ratchett) for company. I was keen to see how my new horse would perform having not had him out since his arrival from Texas at the beginning of March.

Deanna O’Reilly reports on the youth Jan 28th 2007 clinic
The first youth clinic of the year was
a great success in my opinion. I wouldn’t say that I am a serious
championship team contender, but I decided to give it a try, simply
because I hoped my riding would improve because of it. It was my
first clinic, I had been told what to expect though, and when we had
all arrived it was a quick meet and greet, then straight onto the
showmanship class.

Hi, my name is Montana Switzer, I’m 12 years old and I’m looking to get onto the 2008 Youth World Cup Team. On January 20th there was a Youth Clinic for 14 and unders, it was held at the Sternberg’s. When I first arrived I was excited but also very nervous, the first thing my group and I focused on was Showmanship.
