2007 National Breed Show Report |
|
|
A new date, a new venue and two new major sponsors. The 2007 Show, Championships and Futurities all held over three days at the exciting new Hand Arena near Clevedon. Despite the ongoing improvements we were given a warm welcome and most things ran smoothly. Our thanks as ever to our Show Team, Helen, Rosemary, Mick and John and our Manager Tracy who was ably assisted by Nathan and our Secretary, Sarah Nutt.
The standard set by the competitors was high and commented on by our
Judges, Gretchen Mathes and Marilyn Randall and Jenny Brockway who was
very surprised that our ‘western’ horses could perform reasonably at
Dressage . The owners of Hand Arena, who were a little dubious about
having a gang of ‘cowboys’ at their facility paid the Quarter Horse
world the great compliment of saying what a nice friendly crowd we are
and how well all the horses behaved.
We have to express our very grateful thanks to our two major sponsors,
firstly to Rambo, who launched their range of Quarter Horse rugs at the
show and sponsored our Championships and secondly to Blue Profile who
sponsored our first Futurity classes and are committed to them for the
next two years.
All in all a good show, reasonable weather and hopefully lots of satisfied competitors.
See you all again next year.

|
|
.
Have
you thought about competing in your first AQHA show this summer? If so,
it’s a great time to start, because AQHA has launched “Show Up!,” a
program for first-time competitors.
Show
Up! rewards you the more you show at AQHA shows. After going to your
first show, you will receive an AQHA 2007 'I Show American Quarter
Horses' jacket patch. After that, you will receive milestone patches
and prizes that tell everyone what you and your Quarter Horse have been
up to this year.
Here’s how you can earn all of the prizes offered this year:
- First show – AQHA showing jacket patch
- Fifth show – patch and cap
- 10th show – patch and jacket
- 15thshow – patch and barn plaque
- 25th show – patch and Professional’s Choice saddle pad
At
the end of the year, the top novice youth and novice amateur riders in
the Show Up! program will win either a Tex Tan western saddle or a
Collegiate English saddle.
To start
collecting your prizes, all you have to do is load up and head out to
an AQHA show. You’ll be automatically signed up for Show Up!
