Breed Show Success and results Print E-mail
The 2008 AQHA UK Breed Show, Rambo Quarter Horse Championship and Blue Profile Futurities were a nice place to be on the weekend 25-28th September.  With glorious weather - imagine, the sun actually shone at a horse show! - Sarah Nutt and her show team along with AQHA UK council members and volunteers pulled out all the stops to put on a great show.   With nearly 100 horses competing and a great schedule allowing the show to have a relaxed atmosphere, there were a lot of happy smiling faces.

Due to the increase in interest in the Breed and western, With advertisements and editorial running in local newspapers and local horse magazines Horse Creek Farm in March saw a significant number of visiting spectators watching the classes and our versatile quarter horses.

Saturday evening saw the presentation of All Around Awards and the huge amount of silverware that is on offer at this show - Rosemary Darwell-Smith had been busy with her silver polishing cloth to get them all to sparkle.  Reading some of the names on those trophies is like reading the who's who of Quarter Horses over the last quarter of a century.  After the presentations, the gallery at Horse Creek Farm was filled with the amazing Jazz music of Ralph Titmuss and his friends who had kindly offered to play during the evening as a thank you for all the help the Association and members had given to the AQHA UK Youth World Team.  It was a great evening to sit down, relax and chat with other competitors and just catch up.  Meanwhile down in the Cafe  repeat showings of Rodney Carrington's Live at the Majestic kept everyone in stitches.

It was a great show, great atmosphere and a great finish to the season for the majority of AQHA UK members.
