2010 Weekend In The Woods |

Weekend
in the Woods is a great opportunity to relax with your horses, enjoy the beauty
and tranquility of Thetford Forest, and socialise with friends.
Friday
17th September to Sunday 19th September
Weekend in the Woods is an Annual
AQHA UK event (open to all!) and is now in its 11th year.
The event has
been expertly run by Chris Kent for the past 10 years. Chris has decided to take
a well deserved year off and enjoy the event as a guest. So the Rhinestoners
(Theresa & Mark McLuffrey) have taken up the mantel.
The camp begins
on Friday, riders can settle in and explore the woods and non riders can enjoy
cycling, walking or relaxing at camp. After breakfast on Saturday, small teams
will head out with a map and compass for the Treasure Hunt. Saturday evening we
will have a BBQ and an evening of mystery and intrigue. Sunday we will have a
late breakfast and people can enjoy a last ride at their leisure before heading
home (camp must be cleared by 4pm Sunday).
The
weekend is open to riders and non riders.

It is blazing hot here in Kreuth today and the finals competition is also
hotting up. An early start and finish for the UK contingent this morning
with the Hunter Under Saddle classes running consecutively. 
An inauspicious start to the finals here in Kreuth. Chris Dalton ended up
13th in Youth Showmanship whilst Chuck and John Parsons zeroed out of the
Select Amateur Trail. In fairness to Chuck, he was in a bad mood after
losing a shoe in the Open Trail yesterday and jogging into a chute with a
rainbow at the end of it was all too much for him to take.
Last day before the finals here in Kreuth. Indoors for Youth Showmanship.
No rosettes for Chris Dalton or Chloe Nalbantian but two 11th placings were
enough to qualify Chris for the finals.
