AQHA UK Show Team Vacancy |
|
|
|
Vacancy Notice!
AQHA-UK is seeking to
recruit members to help support its growing show commitment. If you enjoy planning
and organising, or the buzz of being where it’s happening, or feel you might
enjoy the camaraderie of being part of a team, or just want to give something
back in return for your own enjoyment of shows, then please give some thought as
to whether this might be right for you.
No early commitment is
required. We just want you to come and
give it a try. It won’t suit everyone
but those who do find they enjoy it will probably become hooked like existing
stalwarts. The long service of those existing team members is testament to the
satisfying and rewarding nature of being involved.
Tasks cover a wide
spectrum including awarding rosettes; designing, setting up and repairing Trail
courses; transporting and entertaining judges; collecting ring duties;
hospitality; safety and security; assisting the secretary; commentating; report
writing and PR. Help at any time with
any of these and other tasks is always welcome but most of all the real need is
for newcomers to join in as full team members.
Even if that is only for one show, or even only part of a show, it will
give a feel for what’s involved that may lead to longer term participation. Food and lodging are provided for full team
members and expenses are paid.
Longer term, for those
interested in serving as show managers or show secretaries, the Association
will fund attendance at AQHA Show management seminars in order to obtain formal
AQHA qualifications.
If you think you might
like to give it a try or would like more information please contact any Council
member by clicking here

26th February
2010
Formal notice of the 2010 AGM, along with the call
for nominations for election to Council, was sent out with the winter edition
of the Journal in January. The number of nominations received for the election was
less than the number of vacancies so a ballot is not required. The new Council will be announced at the
AGM. The final AGM agenda is now
enclosed.
